									<watermark ana="yes">The watermark is difficult to see due to the condition of the paper. It seems to consist of
										one rather asymmetrical part, and one more symmetrical part (possibly a coat of arms?).
										<note>The same watermark is found in <ref>AM 53 8vo</ref> and <ref>AM 37 b 8vo CU2</ref>.</note>
										<p>The watermarks are not located in the centre of the bifolia, but rather mostly on one leaf.</p>

								<condition><p>The leaves are relatively dark.</p> 
									<p>There are many modern repairs by means of Japanese paper (from <date when="1981">1981</date>), especially at the corners and close to the spine.</p>
								<p>The leaves were trimmed, but in the bottom right corner the original edge of the paper is visible on some leaves. Others have not been
									cut open properly and are therefore slightly damaged in the bottom right corner.</p>
								<p>There are a few stains.</p></condition>

							<handNote scribeRef="#EggJon003" scope="sole" script="chancery">The beginning was written in clear chancery script. Later,
								the rubrics remain that way, but the main text is less angular, showing aspects of kurrent script.</handNote>
						<decoDesc><decoNote type="initial">The initials are larger than the main text (2-4 lines). Many initials show additional decoration and 
							the letter "Þ" on fol. <locus>25r</locus> has a face drawn into the bow.</decoNote>
						<decoNote type="paratext">In the latter part of the text, the rubrics are distinguished from the main text by means of a more decorative variant of chancery script than the main text.</decoNote>
						<decoNote type="paratext">The catchwords are decorated with a zigzag-line.</decoNote>
						<decoNote type="paratext">The end of the text is written in the shape of half a diamond.</decoNote></decoDesc>
						<additions><p>There are additions by the scribe in the margins.</p>
							<p>In the top margin of fol. <locus>1r</locus>, a later hand has added the word <q>Hier</q>.</p></additions>
						<bindingDesc><binding><p>The current binding is a modern half binding with fabric
							on the boards made by <name type="person" key="BirDal001">Birgitte Dall</name> 
							in <date when="1983">1983</date>.
							Included in the box of the manuscript is the former binding, a dark half binding from <name type="person" key="KriKaa001">Kristian Kålund</name>'s time 
							(<date notBefore="1911" notAfter="1913">ca. 1911-1913</date>) with blue marbled paper on the boards. 
							Before that, the manuscript was bound in reused parchment leaves from a Latin Psalter, which were taken off under 
							<name type="person" key="KriKaa001">Kålund</name> and are now stored
						in <ref>AM Access. 7 d</ref> (Hs 107).</p></binding></bindingDesc> 
							<p>An <locus from="accMat01r" to="accMat01v">AM-slip</locus> 
							(<dimensions type="slip" unit="mm"><height>128</height><width>76</width></dimensions>) 
							is located in front of the manuscript.
							<name key="ArnMag001" type="person">Árni Magnússon</name> has written on it:
								<q>Hirdskrä med hendi Eggerts, gamla, ä ỏkrum. ur bok er eg fieck frä Skapta Josefs syne</q> 
							<p>The codicological unit was written in <origPlace key="IS">Iceland</origPlace>.
								Storm dates it to the <origDate notBefore="1625" notAfter="1675">middle of the seventeenth century</origDate>
								<bibl>Storm 1885 (Norges Gamle Love IV), <biblScope unit="page">612</biblScope></bibl>.</p>
							<p><name type="person" role="owner" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name> received the manuscript, of
								which this codicological unit was a part, from <name type="person" key="SkaJos001">Skapti Jósefsson</name> (see AM-slip).</p>
