									Originally, the shelfmark read <q>771 d</q> and has been corrected several times, possibly also to <q>770 or 771 d</q> at some point.
								On the spine, there are two stickers for the shelfmark and the running number.
								The pastedowns are made from blank paper with a Maid of Dort watermark ("ProPatria", "JZoonen G[...]").</p></binding>

								<p><name type="person" key="AsgJon001">Ásgeir Jónsson</name> probably wrote the codicological unit for 
									<name type="person" role="commissioner" key="ThoTor001">Torfæus</name>. The codicological unit was thus 
									presumably written in <origPlace key="NO">Norway</origPlace>  
								 during the years <origDate notBefore="1690" notAfter="1697">1690-1697</origDate>
									<bibl>Már Jónsson 2009, <biblScope unit="page">290-291</biblScope></bibl>.</p>
							</origin>
							<provenance>
								<p>In <date when="1712">1712</date>,
									<name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name> recorded this codicological unit  as part of a large folio-sized volume
									("Torfæi Num. XIV"). After that manuscript had come into
									<name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>'s
									possession, he rearranged the large codex. It is not certain how he obtained the large manuscript, but based on a note in <ref>AM 435 a 4to (fol. 7r)</ref>
									he owned it in <date when="1720">1720</date> <bibl>Kålund 1909, <biblScope unit="page">71</biblScope></bibl>, which could mean that he bought it from 
									<name type="person" key="ThoTor001">Torfæus</name>'s widow that same year
									<bibl>Finnur Jónsson 1930, <biblScope unit="volume">I.1</biblScope>:<biblScope unit="page">417</biblScope></bibl>.

											<p>The edges have been repaired using Japanese paper.</p>
											<p>There is a horizontal folding line in the middle of the leaves (matching the folding line found in <ref>AM 770 a 4to CU1</ref>).</p>

									<p>The edges are untrimmed and some of the corners are damaged, but no text is lost.</p>
									<p>The leaves are dirtier towards the edges, and especially fol. <locus>1r</locus> has darkened from dirt and stains.</p>
									<p>One horizontal and two vertical folding lines indicate that the leaves were folded into eights.</p>
										<p>Blank white paper was used for repair at the spine and in order to join the leaves.</p>

										<p>The top and bottom edges are untrimmed. The current fore-edge used to be located at the 
											spine when the leaf was still together with its second half
										(see watermark).</p>
										<p>The leaf was severely damaged at the folding line and was repaired using Japanese paper.
