											On the added leaf fol. <locus>6</locus>, the watermark is a coat of arms of Amsterdam.

										<p>There are is one quire: <list>
											<item>I: fols. 1-6 (1, 2+5, 3+4, 6) (2 bifolia, 2 singletons) <note>The leaves were
											joined during restoration. Originally, fols. 4+5 formed a bifolium which was located at the centre of the quaternion.
											The first three leaves of the current <ref>AM 716 k 4to</ref> were also part of this quire.</note></item>

										<catchwords>There are catchwords on all original leaves.</catchwords>
									<condition><p>The leaves have darkened considerably and there are many stains throughout the
									<p>Fol. <locus>1r</locus> is especially dark.</p>
									<p>The leaves are untrimmed.</p>
									<p>All leaves have been repaired at the spine and many of them at the fore-edge and the corners as well.</p></condition>

							<additions><p>Fol. <locus>6</locus> is a later addition by <name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>, who copied the
							end of the text onto its recto-side.</p>
								<p>A later hand has added stanza numbers in dark ink, mostly at the top and bottom of the pages.</p></additions>
							<bindingDesc><binding><p>The manuscript is bound in a grey cardboard binding from the period <date notBefore="1771" notAfter="1780">1771-1780</date>.
								On the front cover, the title and the shelfmark (including the letter) were written using dark brown ink. 
								There are two stickers for the shelfmark and the running number on the spine. The pastedown is made from printed material.</p></binding>


								<p>The codicological unit was written in <origPlace key="IS">Iceland</origPlace>. 
									Kålund dates it to the <origDate
										notBefore="1601" notAfter="1700">seventeenth century</origDate>
									<bibl><ref target="KKKat">Katalog II</ref>, 
										<biblScope unit="page">137</biblScope></bibl>.</p>
								<p>It is hitherto unknown how or when the larger manuscript, of which this was a part,
									came into the possession of
									<name type="person" role="owner" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>.
