										<p>There is one incomplete quire: <list>
											<item>I: fols. 1-5 (1+4, 2+3, 5) (2 bifolia, 1 singleton) <note>The singleton fol. 5
											has been attached to fol. 1r. These five leaves used to form the centre of a quaternion with
											the two leaves now found in <ref>AM 716 b 4to</ref> in front and the first leaf of the current 
												<ref>AM 716 h 4to</ref> in the end.</note></item>

									<condition><p>The leaves have darkened considerably.</p>
									<p>There are dirt and many stains throughout the manuscript.</p>
									<p>The leaves are untrimmed.</p>
									<p>Some leaves have been repaired in the lower outer corner and close to the spine.</p>
									<p>The text on top of fol. <locus>1r</locus> was crossed out using grey ink. The same ink is found on the AM-slip and
									in the addition on top of fol. <locus>1v</locus> (cf below).</p></condition>

							<additions><p>On top of fol. <locus>1v</locus>, the ink that was used to cross out the text on top of fol. <locus>1r</locus>
							bleeds through the paper and makes some words difficult to read. Therefore, <name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>
							repeated the first three words, writing them into the top margin with the same grey ink.</p>
								<p>A later hand has added stanza numbers in dark ink, mostly at the top and bottom of the pages.</p>
								<binding><p>The manuscript is bound in a modern half binding with fabric on the boards. That binding was made in Copenhagen in 
							<date when="1978">1978</date> before the manuscript came to Iceland.</p>
							<p>Before, the manuscript was bound in a grey cardboard binding from the period <date notBefore="1771" notAfter="1780">1771-1780</date>.
							The older binding has the title and the shelfmark (including the letter) written onto the front cover using dark brown ink.
							There are two stickers for the shelfmark and the running number on the spine. The pastedown is made from printed material.
							The older binding is stored together with the manuscript.</p></binding>

								<p>A <locus from="accMat01r" to="accMat01v">bifolium</locus>
										(<dimensions type="slip" unit="mm"><height>208</height><width>160</width></dimensions>) 
									is located in front and in the back of the manuscript so that it surrounds the leaves of the manuscript. 
									<name key="ArnMag001" type="person">Árni
										Magnússon</name> has written on the recto-side of the front part: 
									<q>Krosskvædi af Kalldadarness krossinum.</q>
								<p>A loose A4 sheet is kept in front of the manuscript. It is a photo copy of the description of the quire structure, which was determined in 

								<p>The codicological unit was written in <origPlace key="IS">Iceland</origPlace>. 
									Kålund dates it to the <origDate
										notBefore="1601" notAfter="1700">seventeenth century</origDate>
									<bibl><ref target="KKKat">Katalog II</ref>, 
										<biblScope unit="page">135</biblScope></bibl>.</p>
								<p>It is hitherto unknown how or when the larger manuscript, of which this was a part,
									came into the possession of
									<name type="person" role="owner" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>.
