                                        <watermark ana="yes">The main watermark is a coat of arms of Amsterdam. On many leaves the watermark is difficult 
                                            to see due to the condition of the paper. On the added leaves in the first quire, no watermark is visible but chain-lines can be seen.<p>

                                        <p>The watermark on the back flyleaf is (the top half of) a Maid of Dort "IT ProPatria".</p></watermark>

                                    <foliation ana="later pag">There is later pagination in black ink on every fifth page (1-75 and 78). A later hand has added the missing 
                                    pagination on the recto-sides of the leaves, skipping the verso-sides.</foliation>

                                        <item>I: fols. 1-8 (1, 2+7, 3+6, 4+5, 8) (3 bifolia, 2 singletons) <note>Fols. 1 and 8 are glued onto fol. 2 and 7, respectively.</note></item>

                                        <p>The paper of the original leaves is very dark and shows many stains (i.e. the added leaves in the first quire are significantly cleaner).</p>
                                        <p>The ink is bleeding through the paper.</p>
                                        <p>The leaves have been trimmed, so that the catchwords are partly cut off.
                                        The trimming was done in a tilted way. Thus, the total height of the leaves is 5 mm less at the spine than at the fore-edge.</p>
                                        
                                        <p>One leaf is missing following fol. <locus>32</locus>.</p>
                                        <p>There used to be older repairs at the spine, of which the glue is still visible. The glued-on slips of reused paper have been
                                            taken off and are now attached to the back flyleaf.</p>
                                        <p>The bottom outer corner of fol. <locus>13</locus> is missing, but no text is damaged.</p>
                                        <p>There are holes from overcast stitches in the inner margins of all leaves (including the additional leaves).</p>

                            <decoDesc><decoNote type="initial">In the main part, initials are slightly larger (1-2 lines) and decorated by means
                            of additional lines, squiggles and cross lines.</decoNote>
                            <decoNote type="initial">In the added part, there is a major initial on fol. <locus>1r</locus>. Its hight correlates to
                            10 lines and it fills more than half of the text width. The initial is decorated with floral ornaments. Smaller initials
                            in the added parts expand over 1-2 lines and are decorated to varying degrees spanning from floral ornaments to bolder lines.</decoNote>
                            <decoNote type="paratext">The catchwords are decorated with squiggles.</decoNote>
                            <decoNote type="paratext">There are 2-3 line fillers at the end of paragraphs.</decoNote>
                            <decoNote type="paratext">The rubrics are written larger than the text.</decoNote>
                            <decoNote type="paratext">The end of the text is written in the shape of half a diamond.</decoNote>
                                <decoNote type="other">All leaves show traces of red colouring on the edges.</decoNote></decoDesc>
                            <additions><p>Fols. <locus>1-3</locus> and <locus>6-7</locus> are early additions (2 bifolia and an added first leaf), probably replacing the original
                                leaves. <note>The added leaves show the same trimming line and colouring as the other leaves.</note></p>
                            <p>The note <q>vantar í</q> at the bottom of fol. <locus>32v</locus> indicate the beginning of the lacuna (1 leaf).</p></additions>
                            <bindingDesc><binding><p>The binding is from <name type="person" key="JenWeb001">Jens Jacob Weber</name>'s time, 
                                i.e. <date from="1771" to="1870">1771-1780</date>. It is made from grey cardboard and uses printed material in the pastedown.
                                On the front cover, the shelfmark (including the letter) and the title of the text were written in ink. 
                                On the spine, there are two stickers for the shelfmark and the running number.</p></binding></bindingDesc>
