										<watermark ana="yes">The watermark is a double-lined cross with a crown on top and an oval shape over layering the cross.
											There is no countermark visible.

											The watermark of the added bifolium is a large coat of arms of Amsterdam. <note>The same watermark is found on the innermost
											flyleaves of <ref>AM 410 4to</ref>.</note>

										<p>There are two quires: <list>
												<item>I: fols. 1-8 (1+8, 2+7, 3+6, 4+5) (4 bifolia)</item> 
												<item>II: fols. 9-12 (9+12, 10+11) (2 bifolia)</item>
										<signatures>There are no quire signatures.</signatures>
										<catchwords>There is a catchword on fol. <locus>8v</locus> and there are pseudo-catchwords on 
											fols. <locus>9v-10v</locus>.</catchwords>
									<condition><p>The leaves are rather clean, mostly showing stains around the edges.</p>
										<p>Fols. <locus>1r</locus>, <locus>8v-9r</locus> and <locus>12v</locus> are somewhat dirtier than the other pages.</p>
									<p>The ink is bleeding into the paper, outlining the written area even on the blank pages.</p>

								<p>A later hand has written <q>No 606i</q> onto the recto-side of the current first leaf
									of the AM-slip (see accMat), indicating that the leaves may have been misplaced for some time.</p></additions>
							<bindingDesc><binding><p>The current binding is a grey cardboard binding from <date notBefore="1771" notAfter="1780">ca. 1771-1780</date>.
							On the front cover, the shelfmark (including the letter) and the title were written in black ink. On the spine, there are two stickers
							for the shelfmark and the running number. The pastedown is made from printed material.</p></binding>

							<accMat><p>An <locus from="accMat01r" to="accMat01v">AM-slip</locus>
								in form of a bifolium
								(<dimensions type="slip" unit="mm"><height>203</height><width>156</width></dimensions>) 
								is added in front of the manuscript (now glued onto the inner margin of fol. <locus>1r</locus>).
								On the recto-side of
								the current second leaf, <name key="ArnMag001" type="person">Árni
									Magnússon</name> has written: <q>Olafs rimur Tryggva sonar
										Sigurdar Blinda. <p>Feingnar 1712. i Octobri hia M<ex>onsieur</ex> Þormodi Torfasyne,
											og voru þä in<ex>n</ex>bundnar framanvid Annala. tven<ex>n</ex>a, gamla <ex>og</ex> Biỏrns ä
											Skardzä.</p> Eru (sem mier synest) med hende eins skrifara H<ex>erra</ex> Þorlaks
										b<ex>isku</ex>ps ä Holum, og var bokin ỏll med sỏmu hendi ritud.</q>
								<note>Since the current inside of the bifolium is dirtier than the current outside, it is very likely that the bifolium used
								to be placed around the leaves as a jacket with the writing on the outside.</note>

								<p>The manuscript was written in <origPlace key="IS">Iceland</origPlace>. 
									Kålund dates it to the <origDate
										notBefore="1601" notAfter="1700">seventeenth century</origDate>
									<bibl><ref target="KKKat">Katalog II</ref>, 
										<biblScope unit="page">12</biblScope></bibl>.</p>
									<name type="person" role="owner" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>
									received the larger manuscript, of which this was a part, from 
									<name type="person" key="ThoTor001">Torfæus</name> in <date when="1712">1712</date>.
