Indeed, there are traces of a former manuscript, to which the note belonged:
                                    The manuscript <ref>NKS 1760 4to</ref>, formerly owned by <name type="person" key="PetSuh001">Peter Frederik Suhm</name>,
                                    states that it is a copy of No. 587 in 4to of <name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>'s manuscripts. <title>Sörla þáttur</title>,
the text it contains, is not a copy of the extent <ref>AM 587 e 4to</ref>, but agrees with the variant readings that are found in the present
manuscript. Moreover, <name type="person" key="JonOla003">Jón Ólafsson</name> registered in his handwritten catalogue two copies of

It can thus be assumed that <ref>NKS 1760 4to</ref> is a copy of the other copies of <title type="uniform">Sörla

On the spine, there are remnants of two stickers for the shelfmark and the running number.
