                                                    quire together with fol. 1 of <ref>AM 585 a 4to</ref>.</note></item>

                               He used hybrida, chancery and kurrent script, changing from one to the other. The catchwords were written in kurrent script.</handNote>

                                <decoNote type="initial">The main initials span 4-6 lines. They are emphasised by means of several bold and thin lines.
                                Other initials are written only slightly larger than the text.</decoNote>
                                <decoNote type="paratext">The rubrics and first lines of the texts are written in larger letters of chancery script. </decoNote>
                            <decoNote type="paratext">The catchwords are decorated with different squiggles.</decoNote>
                                <decoNote type="paratext">The end of the last text is written in the shape of a half diamond.</decoNote>
                            <additions><p>There are a few additions in the margins.</p></additions>
                                <binding><p>The manuscript is bound in a grey cardboard binding from the time of 
                                    <name type="person" key="JenWeb001">Jens Jacob Weber</name>, i.e. <date from="1771" to="1780">1771-1780</date>.
                                    The shelfmark (including the letter) and the title of the saga were written on the front cover.
                                    On the spine, there are remnants of two stickers for the shelfmark and the running number.
                                    The pastedown is made from printed material.</p></binding>


                            <origin>The codicological unit was written in <origPlace key="IS">Iceland</origPlace>
                                by <name type="person" key="JonTho058">Jón Þórðarson</name>.
                                According to the colophon it was written in 
                                <origDate when="1691">1691</origDate>.
                                <p><name type="person" role="owner" key="JonJon071">Jón Jónsson</name> inherited the manuscript, of which this codicological unit is was part, after his father 
                                    <name type="person" key="JonTho058" role="owner">Jón Þórðarson</name>. 
                                    In <date when="1710">1710</date>, <name type="person" key="MarBer001" role="owner">Markús Bergsson</name> 
                                    gave the larger manuscript to <name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>, who rearranged the parts.
                                    It is not known how the manuscript came to <name type="person" key="MarBer001" role="owner">Markús Bergsson</name>, 
                                    but in his notes, <name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>
                                    mentions that <name type="person" key="SigSae001">Sigmundur Sæmundsson</name> 
                                    is said to have been a previous owner <bibl>AM 435 a 4to, 82r</bibl>.</p>
