                                        and 142-143 (<locus from="12r" to="13r">12r-13r</locus>). This foliation has been erased.</foliation>

                                        <catchwords>There are catchwords on the verso-sides of the leaves that used to be the end of a quire: fols. <locus from="8v" to="8v">8v</locus>, 
                                            <locus from="10v" to="10v">10v</locus> and <locus from="12v" to="12v">12v</locus>.</catchwords>

                                    <condition><p>A total of 12 leaves have been lost: 6 in between fols. <locus from="9v" to="10r">9v and 10r</locus> and 6 in between 
                                        fols. <locus from="11v" to="12r">11v and 12r</locus>.</p>
                                    <p>The leaves are rather dark from stains, especially fols. <locus>1r</locus>, <locus>9r</locus> and <locus>10v-11r</locus>.
                                    Moreover, the margins and edges of most leaves are darker than the rest of the page.</p>
                                    <p>The fore-edge of fol. <locus>13</locus> is partially untrimmed.</p></condition>

                            <bindingDesc><binding contemporary="unknown"><p>The manuscript is bound in a full binding made of parchment on cardboard from <name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>'s
                                time. The pastedown is made from blank paper. There are parchment strips laced through the spine fold
                                and a blue sticker with the shelfmark is attached to the spine. There
                            used to be a round sticker for the running number as well.</p></binding></bindingDesc>

                            <p>The codicological unit was written in <origPlace key="IS">Iceland</origPlace>.
                                Kålund dates it to the <date notBefore="1601" notAfter="1700">seventeenth century</date> <bibl><ref target="KKKat">Katalog I</ref>, 
                                     <biblScope unit="page">173</biblScope></bibl>, but the active writing period of the scribe was
                                <origDate notBefore="1625" notAfter="1672">ca.
                                    1625-1672</origDate>.</p>
