                                            <p>The watermark consists of
                                                two round towers. They are connected by an archway without portcullis but with a pointed gable.  There is a pointy line underneath. 
                                                The countermark consists of the letters "HP" written together.

                                            <p>The later added flyleaves show a coat of arms of Amsterdam with the text "TMK 1716" underneath.

                                    <foliation ana="later fol">There is later foliation in black ink in the top outer corners (1-35). 
                                        Some of the numbers have been
                                    repeated by at different hand.</foliation>

                                Subsections have smaller initials (1-2 lines) that are written at the same time as the text; 
                                some of them are at times decorated with floral ornaments.</decoNote>

                            <additions><p>There are marginal notes, most of them by the scribe, some of them later. One especially long note is found in the 
                                outer margin of fol. <locus>19r</locus>, where the leaf is not trimmed and folded in instead.</p></additions>
                                <binding><p>The manuscript is bound in a full binding made of parchment on cardboard 
                                    from <name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>'s time. 
                                    There are parchment strips laced through the spine fold.
                                The pastedown is made from the same material as the flyleaves, which can be dated to <date when="1716">1716</date> (see watermark).
                                On the front cover and spine, two different hands have written the number <q>192</q> in black ink. Also on the front cover, some numbers are noted in brown ink: 
                                <q>1.-1-15. 2.-16-29. 3.-31-50. 4.-51-80. 5-81-101.</q>
                            During later restoration, some slips that used to support the sewing where taken out. They are now stored in the box with the manuscript. Moreover, the blue shelfmark sticker 
                            from the spine was taken off.

                                <name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name> has written on it: <q xml:lang="is">Heidreks Saga med

                            <origin><p>The codicological unit was written in <origPlace key="IS">Iceland</origPlace>.  
                                Kålund dates it to the <date notBefore="1601" notAfter="1700">seventeenth century</date> <bibl><ref target="KKKat">Katalog I</ref>, <biblScope unit="page">159</biblScope></bibl>, but the active writing period of the scribe was
                                <origDate notBefore="1625" notAfter="1672">ca.
                            <provenance><p>According to the accompanying AM-slip, <name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni
                                Magnússon</name> borrowed the manuscript from <name type="person"
                                    key="JonTho012">Jón Þorláksson</name> in <date when="1709">1709</date> 
                                and then purchased it from him in <date when="1710">the following year</date>. 
                                The present codicological unit was then part of a
                                larger codex, which <name type="person" role="owner" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>
                                took apart.</p>
