                                        <watermark ana="yes"><p>There is a large foolscap in a collar with five bells and a chain behind the head.</p>
                                        <p>There are two different countermarks: One reads "RONDEL", the other one "AD" in a frame.</p>

                                        <item>I: Fols. 1-4 (1+4, 2+3) (2 bifolia) <note>These were the innermost bifolia of a larger quire. 
                                        Fols. 5 and 6 of the following quire formed the outer most bifolia of this quire together with the two last leaves
                                        of <ref>AM 129 fol.</ref></note></item>
                                            <item>II: Fols. 5-10 (5, 6, 7+10, 8+9) (2 singletons, 2 bifolia) <note>Fols. 5 and 6 were originally part of quire I.
                                                The bifolia 7+10 and 8+9 do not originally belong together either (see below).</note></item> 
                                            <item>III: Fols. 11-13 (11+12, 13) (1 bifolium, 1 singleton) <note>The bifolium 11+12 was possibly at the core of an original quire of 
                                            4 or 5 bifolia. To such a quire, there are 3 or 4 leaves missing in the end.</note></item>
                                        <signatures>There are no quire signatures.</signatures>
                                        <catchwords>There are pseudo-catchwords on fols. <locus from="1r" to="7r"
                                            >1r-7r</locus> and <locus from="10v" to="12v">10v-12v</locus>.</catchwords>
                                    <condition><p>The leaves <locus from="1r" to="1v"
                                        >1</locus>, <locus from="5r" to="5v">5</locus> and
                                        <locus from="6r" to="6v">6</locus> are torn.</p>
                                        <p>Most leaves have been repaired at the spine and at times the corners using Japanese paper.</p>
                                    <p>Some text is lost due to trimming, i.e. on fol. <locus>7</locus>.</p>
                                        <p>There are some stains through-out the manuscript.</p></condition>

                                additional lines and flourishing. Other initials are merely written slightly larger than the text (1-2 lines).</decoNote>

                            <additions><p>Fol. <locus from="13r" to="13v">13</locus> is a later addition
                            from <name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>'s time. One of his scribes copied
                            the end of the text onto fol. <locus>13r</locus>.</p>
                            <p>There are some additions and variants in the margins.</p></additions>
                                <binding when="1977" contemporary="false">
                                    <p>The current binding (<dimensions type="binding" unit="mm"
                                        is a modern half binding with fabric on the boards made by <name type="person" key="BirDal001">Birgitte Dall</name> 
                                        in <date when="1977-03">March 1977</date>.</p>
                                <binding notBefore="1772" notAfter="1780" contemporary="false">
                                    <p>An older binding (<dimensions type="binding" unit="mm">
                                        is kept with the manuscript. It is a grey cardboard binding from ca. <date from="1771" to="1780">1771-1780</date>
                                        in the typical manner of <name type="person" key="JenWeb001">Jens Jacob Weber</name>'s time with the shelfmark (including the letter)
                                        and the title written on the front board. On the spine, there are two stickers for the shelfmark and
                                        the running number. Printed
                                        material was used as the pastedown.</p>
                            <p>There are three slips by <name key="ArnMag001" type="person">Árni
                                    Magnússon</name> in front of the manuscript as well as one modern slip:

                            <item n="4">There is a loose slip with information on the restoration of the manuscript done in 
                                <name type="place">Copenhagen</name> in <date when="1977">1977</date>.</item>
                            <p>The codicological unit was written in <origPlace key="IS">Iceland</origPlace>.
                                Kålund dates it to the <date notBefore="1601" notAfter="1700">seventeenth century</date> <bibl><ref target="KKKat">Katalog I</ref>, <biblScope unit="page">130</biblScope></bibl>, while handrit.is 
                                dates it to the <origDate notBefore="1650"
                                    notAfter="1699">second half of the seventeenth century</origDate> <bibl>handrit.is</bibl>.
                            <p><name key="ArnMag001" type="person">Árni Magnússon</name> received the
                                codex, of which the codicological unit was a part, from <name key="JonDad001" type="person">Jón
                                    Daðason</name> (see AM-slip). </p>
