It is made from parchment on cardboard with blank leaves as pastedown.
There are remnants of a blue sticker for the shelfmark on the spine.
On the outside of the back cover, in the upper left-hand corner (ca. 3 and 4 cm. from the edge), there is a signature. It is in bad condition and therefore hard do read.
<note> A somewhat similar signature is located in the inside of the binding of <ref>AM 9 fol.</ref> </note>
The watermark on the front and back flyleaves of this old binding is a coat of arms with two lions, which is rather "fuzzy" in style. There is no crown on top, but "HS"
(S written in the middle of H) underneath.
The coat of arms itself is divided into two (a right and a left part). (Note: See also <ref>AM 9 fol.</ref>)</p>

Stored with this older binding there are six paper strips showing foliation numbers by <name type="person" key="ArnMag001">Árni Magnússon</name>,
